Located in beautiful downtown Beaufort, South Carolina, The Emerald was originally the home of BoomBears, an iconic toy store designed by local architect James G. Thomas. In 2021, after sitting vacant for almost 10 years, the building underwent an extensive renovation which included elevating the entire building, making it the first self-service boutique hotel in Beaufort.
The Emerald is located within the historic point neighborhood of Downtown Beaufort and is just a short walk from Waterfront Park and the local shopping and dining options of Bay Street. Unlike other conventional hotels, our unique fully automated check-in process means no front desk allowing for 100% contact free check-in.

Superior King
Our superior king room features a lush king size bed, wet bar with microwave, mini fridge and bar sink, and a luxurious bathroom with rain shower. Some accommodations also have a private balcony.

Superior King Suite
The superior king suite is our largest accommodation. This second floor suite offers beamed 14ft ceilings, an island wet bar, private balcony and lush king size bed. The spacious private bath offers a dual head rain shower.

Check-In/Parking
The Emerald is a self-service hotel offering fully automated check-in. So, no need to wait at a front desk!
Our check in process is 100% contact free. Upon booking your reservation through our website or another
online travel site, you will receive a confirmation email with detailed check-in instructions and a unique
access code. Check-in is permitted anytime after 4:00 pm. Although we don’t have a front desk,
our friendly staff is available by phone call, text or email should you have any questions at all.
